Jun 24, From Madeleine-Centre QC to Parc National de la Gaspésie, QC
After the wet and cloudy weather at the end of the day yesterday, This morning it’s a perfect weather. Here is the view from the cabin.
And the same nice coast ride, the north part of Gaspé is really good for road trip.
I came across few interesting sculptures in the rest areas
There are lots of rain in forecast, but tonight looks to be ok so I decided to camp in Gaspésie park. Looks like there is an event going on, there are lots of hikers and event tents are setup. I managed to get a tent site for one night by lake Cascapédia, and it’s 10km of gravel road off of main road.
There is always cyclist on the road in this area.
The road to the park is nice like most other roads here
And long ride on gravel road to campsite.
I camped early today so I can go for a hike. I went to Mount Ells 1000m high and 3.7km long. It’s very thick vegetation here, so it’s very hard to go off trail.
The lake Alain-Potvin at alt 840m on the way up
There are so much trees on top that it’s hard to get a good look at the surroundings. And there is no bench or stone or anything to sit and relax!
The look at Lake Cascapédia where I camped from top. I had to lift the camera all the way up to take this from between and above trees.
Heading back down, this tie will be a lot faster.
And the Lake Cascapédia from the shore, it’s very quiet and peaceful.
But today is Friday, most campers will arrive tonight for the weekend. Late in the evening this place started to get busier and nosier.
There are also huts to rent here by the lake
And preparing the camping food step by step. It was good and I was so hungry I had it all, I think it was supposed to be for two.
Day 8, 125km riding, 7.5km hiking
