July 5, 2015 – From North Thompson River Provisional Park to Jasper, Alberta
It was interesting that in North Thompson River provincial park, the signs were in English and German! Probably it is the same in most parks here as there were lots of European tourists here.
Packed and ready to leave BC for Jasper, Alberta
Spectacular scenery on an almost empty road.
Mount Robson, highest mountain in Canadian Rockies.
To make sure I get a campsite before they fill up, I rushed in to Whistler campground close to Jasper and got a site. Then I went in Jasper town which is beside train route.
After that I went to Maligne Lake, it was an hour long and slow ride. But it was great scenery on the road.
And the Maligne Lake. I went for two of the hikes in the area, but instead I should have stick only to hiking on the side of the Lake.
On the way back to Jasper I stopped at Maligne Canyon.
At this point of the trip and after seeing Utah, when I hear Canyon I think of big Canyons in Utah. But this canyon is completely different!
Before it gets dark I got back to Jasper town for dinner and then head back to campsite for shower and sleep as it was tiring day with long ride and few of hours of hiking.
