June 16, 2015 – Leaving Utah today and heading to Death Valley, California. Passing through Arizona for short time and crossing Nevada through Las Vegas.
Long way to go today, Lots of highway again just to get to and through Las Vegas.
Another time zone change, so by 6:30am local I was already in Nevada.
There was an accident and highway to get through Las Vegas was very busy and slow and hot!
Lunch and a little rest in suburb of Las Vegas and getting lots of water as it was recommended for getting through Death Valley.
Before leaving civilization, I had to adjust the chain as it was keep getting stretched.
On my way I saw Parker’s Kawasaki at Pahrump, NV, very nice people which did the job for me very quick, thanks to them. (http://www.parkerskawasaki.com/)
There are places with nice scenery in death valley for taking pictures and little exercise of hiking up the hill in the heat!
The hottest recorded in Death Valley is 138f/58c. The hottest I got was 122f/50c.
I managed to take a picture from the thermometer on the bike with ambient temperature of 49c
The names of locations are interesting too, Furnace Creek visitor center!.
More riding in the desert…
For tonight I settled down with motel in Stovepipe well, at sea level, but with a pool which I enjoyed a lot.
Gas at $4 a Galon which was still cheaper than Canada and even Yosemite park!!
Day 11, 482km, 12 hours campsite to motel
